I am working hard at learning how to tactfully turn down and applicant once I have decided not to hire them. I'm finishing up interviews with applicants soon, and don't want to be the potential employee that says "I'll call and let you know," but leaves rejected applicants hanging when they could be applying to other jobs. I have decided to do one of the following. 1. If the Applicant was a pleasant person and I feel that they deserve to have my attention I will make a phone call within 12 hours and let them know that way and 2. if the person was just a plain bad egg I will send them an email with the decision so I do not have to encounter them again.
