beginning to sew

First thing, select one (1) how-to-sew book from the library. Just one. 2 Buy your own sewing machine. I suggest getting a used one that works, at a garage sale. 3 Make sure you have extra bobbins that fit your exact machine. Bobbins are the small spools that hold the thread that links up, under the needle. 4 Find a local sewing class—often the fabric store offers these for free. Or, ask at the same store where to find a class. Or, ask your friends which ones already sew, and offer to do them a favor in exchange for showing you the basics. 5 Use your own time and the book to practice really simple stuff, like sewing in a straight line. Follow suggestions in the book. Hopefully with these goal tips I can do it just fine

you go girl!!

Seems you know what you want and how to get it!! Guess you are half way there!! I personally don’t have the knack for sewing, so I say more power to you...lol Keep us posted on your journey. I would like to know how you do with your first project. I would rather sew by hand then with a machine that way I can make my stitches as small or as big as I need them. Besides I can’t see as well with a machine as I do with just a needle and thread. To each his own!! Good luck!!
