Top 7 List of Famous Entrepreneurs

Famous entrepreneurs, whether you love them or loath them as individuals, provide us with inspiration for what we might one day achieve ourselves.

If these people hadn’t already achieved such great things we might struggle to believe that such amazing feats were possible.

However, we know they are and we have men and women entrepreneurs like these to thank for that…

Richard Branson

A well known English entrepreneur who is as famous for his dangerous adventures as he is for his entrepreneurial achievements. As head of the Virgin group of companies he’s a true multipreneur with a wide range of successful companies.

Simon Cowell

Best known as the arrogant judge on TV shows like the X-Factor and American Idol. His list of achievements is impressive, being a successful record producer and executive for the BMG UK record company. I think we’re going to see a lot more from him in 2011 and beyond.

Michael Dell

After starting his computer hardware company in the mid 80′s he’s always prided himself on selling direct to the consumer and missing out the middle men. Although he doesn’t always do this now, his timing in the 80′s was excellent and the growth rate of DELL has been staggering ever since.

Bill Gates

As co-founder of Microsoft Corporation he’s probably the most famous entrepreneur of the modern day. After reaching the top of Forbes Rich List in 2006 he’s since taken more of a back seat role within Microsoft.

Hugh Hefner

Supreme bachelor and creator of the Playboy brand. He’s lived his life with more than his fair share of controversy. However he’s probably the ultimate lifestyle entrepreneur and I’d love to read his Definite Major Purpose if he has one.

Donald Trump

Outspoken real estate tycoon who’s had plenty of ups and downs in his life. Possesses an amazing ability to pick himself up after adversity and to think bigger than most of us dare. Currently host of The Apprentice in the US.

Oprah Winfrey

Television host, actress, producer, famous woman entrepreneur and philanthropist. Probably best known for her multi award winning talk show Oprah, which has become the highest rated program of its kind in history. Also recently ranked the richest African American of the 20th century.

Whenever you’re at a stage in your business where you’re struggling to make progress refer back to this list of famous entrepreneurs.

They’re no smarter than you are, they just have a great business mindset and they’re willing to use it on a grand scale.

As America entered the 20th century, women were still denied many of the rights we now take for granted. They could own property, but did not have the right to vote or have the right of citizenship independent of their husbands. There were no laws to protect them from hard labor conditions. And in commerce, women were denied management roles. There were few women doctors, fewer women lawyers and a…
